Spotted a pothole on Beaconside Road, a wobbling drain cover, or a street light thats given up the ghost? Reporting it is usually quick, and it really can make a difference - especially if its something that could cause an accident.
Start here: Staffordshire County Council (roads and street lights)
In Gnosall, most day-to-day issues on roads, pavements, verges, signs, drains and street lighting are handled by Staffordshire County Council Highways. The easiest starting point is their contact and reporting page:
https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Highways/Contact.aspx
What to include in your report (it helps get it fixed faster)
- The exact location (road name, nearest house number, or a clear landmark)
- What the problem is (pothole, blocked gully, broken lamp, loose kerb, flooding, fallen sign, etc)
- How urgent it feels (for example, trip hazard outside the shops, or a lamp out on a dark bend)
- A photo if you can take one safely (never stop in the road to do it)
If its dangerous right now
If theres an immediate danger - for example a deep pothole that could cause a crash, exposed cables, or a road obstruction - use the County Councils highways contact options so it can be treated as urgent:

If there is an accident happening now or someone is at risk, call 999.
Not sure who owns it? (a quick pointer)

After youve reported it
If you can, make a note of any reference number you are given, and keep an eye on the spot over the next couple of weeks. If nothing seems to happen, follow up via the same Staffordshire Highways contact page with the location and reference.
