If you grew up in the 80s or simply love a good live show, here's one worth knowing about. Toyah Willcox -- singer, actress, TV presenter, author and BRIT Award winner -- is heading to the Gatehouse Theatre in Stafford as part of an extensive UK tour.
Toyah first burst onto the scene back in 1976, building a remarkable double career in music and acting. She became a household name through her role in the film Quadrophenia, then stormed the charts with hits including It's A Mystery, I Want To Be Free and Thunder In The Mountains. Her album Anthem went gold, spent 46 weeks on the UK album chart, and even returned to the Top 40 in 2022 when it was remastered and reissued.
Over a career spanning more than 50 years, she has released 23 studio albums, appeared at the National Theatre and London's Royal Court, starred alongside Sir Laurence Olivier and The Who's Roger Daltrey, and won Best Female Singer at the British Rock and Pop Awards in 1982. She is also married to King Crimson guitarist Robert Fripp.
Now, with a new book on the way, Toyah is hitting the road to reflect on it all -- expect favourite hits performed live alongside personal stories from one of Britain's most distinctive entertainers.
