Families in and around Gnosall could save money this summer as children aged 5 to 15 are set to travel free on participating local bus services throughout August.
What is the offer?
The Summer Bus Fare Offer is part of the Government's Great British Summer Savings programme. It covers eligible bus routes across Staffordshire and is designed to make it easier for families to get out and about without worrying about travel costs.
Days out, leisure attractions, sports activities, libraries, and community events are all among the things families could access more easily thanks to the scheme.
How do you use it?
The offer applies to participating bus services only, so it's worth checking with your local bus operator before you travel to confirm which routes are included and whether any conditions apply.
It appears that the scheme covers bus routes that pass through Gnosall, including the Stafford to Telford via Gnosall and Telford to Stafford via Gnosall routes (5/5A), operated by Arriva.
Andrew Mynors, Cabinet Member for Connectivity at Staffordshire County Council, said the scheme would help families "make the most of the summer holidays while keeping more money in their pockets at what can be an expensive time of year."
βFree travel will help families make the most of the summer holidays while keeping more money in their pockets at what can be an expensive time of year. We hope as many people as possible will take advantage of the scheme and see where the bus can take them this summer.β
