A series of public drop-in events will take place in August and September, giving everyone a chance to see the detailed development framework for Stafford town centre and put questions directly to councillors and council officers.
The sessions follow a similar event held for local businesses and potential investors at St Mary's Church, where attendees viewed plans and learned about key sites already earmarked for development, including the former Co-op building and disused parts of the Guildhall. Both sites have already attracted interest from national developers.
The proposals on the table include:
- A revamped Market Hall featuring artisan retail, a food court, space for business start-ups, competitive socialising and live performance
- New town centre homes, including town houses, apartments and accommodation for older residents
- Expansion of the local college
- New commercial and retail opportunities
- Pocket parks and improved public spaces
Although Stafford is the focus, the changes could have a real impact for Gnosall residents who regularly head into town to shop, work or socialise. The drop-in sessions are open to all, so it is worth taking the opportunity to find out more and have your voice heard.
