Thieves are targeting homes where windows and doors have been left open or unlocked, with several burglaries and attempted burglaries reported across Staffordshire over recent days.
In two overnight incidents on Monday 20 July, cars were stolen after suspects entered homes through unsecured windows and took the keys. A Mazda was taken from a driveway on Moreton Lane, Kingsley, at around 3.40am, and a Ford Kuga was stolen from Elmwood Drive, Blythe Bridge, at around 2.20am. The Ford was later found abandoned with a flat tyre in the Caverswall area.

- Princess Drive, Weston Coyney
- Stanier Street, Fenton
- Bridle Path, Werrington
Police are asking everyone to close and lock windows and doors before going to sleep or leaving the house, even in warm weather. Officers are carrying out proactive patrols and are working to identify those responsible.
