The initiative, operating under the name Gnosall Planning Challenge, has been established by residents who object to the proposed scheme and wish to challenge the planning process. The group says its aim is to protect the character of the village and raise concerns about the potential impact of the development on local infrastructure, traffic, green space and the wider community.
The campaign has created a dedicated website where residents can learn more about the challenge, view supporting information and find out how to become involved.
Residents wishing to learn more can visit:
https://gnosallplanningchallenge.org
The aim of this resident-led website is to highlight the negative impacts that the proposed housing development may introduce to the village, including highways safety, infrastructure, landscape and ecological issues.
The proposed development has already been considered by Gnosall Parish Council as part of the statutory consultation process, and recently conducted a public meeting to inform Gnosall residents of the proposals put forward by developers.
As with all planning matters, residents are entitled to hold differing views. Some see additional housing as an opportunity to help meet local needs, including affordable homes for younger families and older residents wishing to downsize, while others have concerns about the scale, location and potential impact of development.
Residents who wish to follow the planning application or submit their own comments are encouraged to do so through the official planning process operated by Stafford Borough Council.
LoveGnosall has contacted the group and is awaiting comments from representatives of the challenge, which will be published here one received.
