The incident is reported to have taken place at around 5:00pm on Saturday 20 September, when two males, believed to be a father and son, were seen targeting ducks and moorhens along the boardwalk.
Wild birds, including ducks and moorhens, are protected by law. It is a criminal offence to intentionally injure or kill them, and anyone found doing so could face a police investigation and prosecution.
PCSO Rebecca Justice from the Eccleshall Rural and Gnosall Neighbourhood Policing Team is asking anyone with information to get in touch.
